To ensure a fair and professional evaluation process, Memphis Film Festival adheres to a clear set of submission rules. These guidelines protect both filmmakers and jurors by creating a transparent and consistent standard.
Before submitting your film, please take a moment to review the eligibility criteria, format requirements, and important deadlines. Your understanding of our rules helps us maintain the integrity and quality of the festival.

Key Rules for Submission
Eligibility
Open to filmmakers worldwide. All genres and formats are accepted, but submissions must be original works created after January 1, 2023.
Categories
We accept submissions across a wide range of categories, including Narrative Features, Short Films, Documentaries, Animations, Student Films, Experimental works, Music Videos, and Unproduced Screenplays. Each entry must be submitted under the most appropriate category based on content and format.
Submission Format
Films must be submitted digitally via FilmFreeway in MP4 or MOV format. Minimum resolution: 1080p (HD).
Subtitles
All non-English films must include English subtitles, embedded or hardcoded.
Premiere Status
Premiere status is not required, but preference may be given to films that have not been widely released online or at other festivals.
Entry Fee Policy
All entry fees are non-refundable. Discounted rates are available for students or early-bird submissions.
Screening Rights
By submitting, you grant us permission to screen your film during the festival. You retain full copyright ownership.
Disqualification Criteria
Incomplete submissions, offensive content, poor audio/video quality, or plagiarized material will be disqualified without refund.
